Alignment

So just finished the power steering conversion and went for a test drive. The toe was severly out and driving around felt so sketch. The car felt like it was driving on ice. I would hate to take out my new setup and crash it, would seriously suck.

I drove slowly and got to Millwoods honda for my alignment, special thanks to Mr.Yeap(service manager of Millwoods Honda) for allowing the alignment on my lowered car. Dealerships hate lowered cars 🙂

post up alignment spec’s later today, fricken front toe alignment was out by over 2degrees on each side, talk about scary driving and tire killers.

So who ever does this, you MUST have a alignment after, specially if you change tie rods

Break-in period

Well, engine started up first try no problems now it’s time for the break in period.
Engine started up at 85,820km’s on my tach
-warmed up the engine for about 10-15mins then immediately drained the oil to take out any floating contaminents from the initial startup.
-break in period now, drove around let the rings seat properly, 85,900km’s on the tach now
-go home today and drain the oil again, 2nd oil change done at 85,970km’s on the tach
-next oil change at 1000km’s after, so 86,820km’s
-oil change before track day 89,400km’s
-then the regular 6k km oil change intervals

next oil change again at 1000km’s, 86,820km’s on the tach and another valve adjustment to make sure everythings still to spec. At that point i should do a compression test to make sure everything is good.
keep you updated.
Next engine build will come shortly….b20vtec

installing shifter bushings and sway bar bushings

okay so i got another shippment of Hardrace shifter bushings and sway bar bushings and links.
Thank you again Freeman at velocityshop.com

Anyways the shifter bushings are like a hardplastic, i did not want polyurethane because i did not want the annoying squeaky noise. Anyways, here’s some pic’s comparing shifter bushings. Oh and yes that is the integra typeR cadium plated shift linkage set 🙂

Now for the front sway bar bushings and links, also Hardrace. Oh and that is a 24mm integra typeR front sway bar
Here’s some pic’s

On a closer look at the links they added a integrated nut on the ball joint side so you can grab it to remove the nut on the other side that usually gets seized by rust. Usually on oem sway bar links you have to grip the wide end of where the ball joint is to hold it from spinning, as you can see what i had to do when removing the stock link.
